You mentioned Switzerland. Is that the Montreaux Jazz Festival?
That is one big time July Jazz Festival in Europe.

Yes, they will be playing in the Montreaux Jazz Festival. Unfortunately we'll most likely miss that one. It would have been too costly to completely unwinded our STJ trip and then do the entire Europe Jazz Tour. After spending one week in STJ, it is unlikely that Bob would be able to spend another 1 1/2 weeks away from the office. So the compromise is 1 week in STJ (with one night at Secret Harbour at the beginning and end), which only cost us $60 to modify our plane tickets, and then 6 days in France. Our savings from shortening our STJ stay will cover some of the travel cost to France.

Which one is going to be playing at in Germany.
Montreaux quite frankly is one of the most impressive jazz festivals in Europe. That is definitely a fine notch on the jazz resume.

Good Decision...
Kids are young for only so long and STJ is not gonna go anywhere, it will be available for alone time in the future when your time is right.
Promo is right...nothing like that good European food!

In Germany we think they'll be at the World Jazz Festival (ZMF) in Freiburg (still trying to figure things our ourselves) In France, they'll play at the Jazz à Vienne Festival and the Jazz à Juan Festival in Juan les Pins. We are planning to see them at these last two venues.
Here is a link to their Jazz Band Site:
http://www.glenelgbands.com/jazz.php, which gives a little overview on Glenelg Jazz Ensemble and a write up of the band's 2004 tour. Our son was a freshman then and not in the band. We are hoping our youngest makes the Jazz Band and they do another tour when he is a senior; we’ll definitely be “chaperones” for the entire tour then.

Checking out the band's website, I recognize your son from your STJ pictures! They're going to have an experience they will NEVER forget! I'm so glad you decided to go!
