Arriving on STJ is alway so joyous and leaving can be so sad. The time we spend there is so beautiful, especially with those that we love. The memories of our time while there and the plans for our return help carry us through.

Thanks for all your replies. You gotta know that this trip was even harder than that. On the way to Jorge's favorite place he said this is the path you will be taking with my ashes. I had to stop and think about that. At first I was upset. But the more I thought about it the more I thought how wonderful that is. We all know we are gonna die. What a good feeling to know where you are gonna be, especially if that place makes you feel good right now. And all your parts can contribute to the next life cycles of bunches of creatures. That is actually really cool if you think about it. I CANNOT be sad about that. Especially cuz I know this is such a wonderful island. Let me tell you what this place really is. It is the place you know you can go and be sad for all your worries. Then you can leave your sadness there and move forward. So you go there and cry and take in all the beauty. But next you think about how much worse your life could be cuz we all make messes in our life. And then you leave cuz you realize you have sort of a plan for the rest of your life and that is good. And it really is good, especially with so many forum friends!

Barbara and Jorge, have so enjoyed your descriptions of your adventures. Congrats on the diving!! That's awesome. And Barbara, your above description and the one of Jorge talking about being in the perfect place with the perfect person - gave me those chills, the good kind! Thank you both for sharing. (Love the pups, too!! - they are beautiful!)

Very sweet sentiments, both of you. I find it amazing that STJ is so much more than just a vacation destination for so many of us. Glad you had a wonderful trip.
