See you in November!
Cheers, RickG
Glenfarclas is one of our favorites. Unfortunately it was closed (Sunday) but we visited there last time. Other destilleries visited this time was Tomatin (didn't even know there was one with that name) and Oban.
Yes, see you in November

I think Rum will be more suitable then!

nyestreet wrote:Bringing back memories.... my "other"destination besides St. John. Beautiful mountains and seashore, wonderful friendly people, fantastic pubs, the best hiking I've ever experienced. Not for everyone, the highland weather is not so great.... I haven't been there since 2004 when I broke my leg hiking w/ my 2 sons...I don't think my wife would like it to much, she's never been there... goota get back!
I agree. Highlands is beautiful, but it's not for everyone. We also liked the north coast west of Inverness very much.
If we would do this again, we would drive less car and do more walks. Also concentrate the stay to say max two areas and do day trips from there. Now we know which parts we like the best, but we still haven't visit most islands (only Skye).

Yes, Janet and Ksea, my time off just passed by too fast. It can't be right
It's such a good thing that it's only a little over 2,5 months until SOTB II. I can't wait!
See you soon

Thanks Maggy for sharing those Beeauuuutiful shots!!
I've visited once a lil' while back with my sister and absolutely LOVED it!
BUT hubs has asked what I want to do for my 50th (in 10 years

ahem...I meant 2 years) and I'm thinking of flying to England and either driving through England and up into the Highlands or the train from England up into Scotland.

I guess I have plenty of time to decide!
We both have Scotch in our blood

Mine mixed with English and his with Irish. Gotta love the Celtic heritage.
Of all my travels so far; I believe the Scots people were the friendliest.
Thanks again for stirring up memories,
Kathy

Hi Maggy - it looks like you have been on one of your wonderful trip. You and Christer are seasoned travelers! I'm jealous!
Do you have plans to be on St John next year? We'll be there in May which is a month later than I'd like to be. One of the three newbies traveling with us couldn't get away until then. If you are there in May I hope we can catch up with each other!
Tell Christer hello for us.
Take care!
Jo Ann

Kathy - I'm sure you will have a great time if you decide to travel in Scotland for your 50th. I have about as much time left to my 50th as you have, and maybe I have to start thinking where I want to go then (Australia maybe).
