I stayed one night at Bolongo Bay on STT, and we took the water-tryke out in the morning. They have it buoyed off to mark the "limits" of the water-tryke. All of a sudden one of the employees comes flying passed us in a dinghy and was pointing out to beyond the buoy's, and yelled "C'mon!". We pointed to our boundary, and he yelled "so what, there's dolphins, this NEVER happens"! So off we went to the open sea on our water-tryke. There was 3 of them playing around (we stayed well away from them) and then they headed out.
He later told us, he had personally never seen any dolphins that close to shore.

Swimming with the Herefords...if properly trained, they can locate floating bales. "Hey Bossie, go find bud!"

Pip, you're heading down for your therapy in a few days. A few painkillers and bushwackers combined with slow days on the beach should cure you. Have a great trip!

I only have experience with two dolphins. We call them Splash and Squirt. I can tell you from experience that these dolphins seek human contact. No one harrasses them, feeds them or pursues them. They just show up and start playing.
I hope Splash and Squirt don't read that NY Times article. I'm sure they'd find it quite upsetting.
