So I guess I'm also a lurker. Usually check the forum several times a day (at work) and only post when I think my info will be helpful.

Love Love Love - all the trip reports and pictures ... Thanks

Happy Friday and Happy DE-LURKING day !!!

Sandy?
Ah yes .. well that's not my name but I know that Sandy VERY well ;)

I have also stayed at Bongo so any questions feel free to ask or shoot me an email.
Growing up in NJ, I too spent many a week "down the shore." Spent most of my shore time on LBI.

Thanks for the offer to answer questions...will have to see if there's anything we can come up with.

Tiger Prof.

When are you gonna let the kids know where they are going????

I can't wait to hear how excited they are when they realize that's where they are going.

Are you just gonna tell them they are going to a beach place and wait till they get there to let them know, or are you gonna tell them sooner?

Another lurker here. I'm always here day daydreaming of our next trip! We'll be on island this year from July 2-14th and looking forward to enjoying the Carnival festivities :D I've never written a trip report because we don't stay in villas, mostly we camp at Maho and Concordia. We both love, love, love St.John!! We get it! This will be our 8th year in a row. This time we are going to spend the 1st part of vacation without renting a jeep, we'll be staying in Cruz Bay and walking or taking the Vitran (I know, it doesn't always run on schedule) I also know it stops at Concordia...do you think they'd let us on with 2 backpacks and one small carryon bag? Right now we're planning on renting a jeep after a couple of days at Concordia.
5 days to go til we're back in paradise!!! :D
and this time I'll write a trip report.....promise.

Not really a lurker (used to be) but not really an active poster either. Only really chime in when I feel I have something to add. Going to STT for our USVI trips leaves us a bit out of the STJ mix thats on this board. We do love STJ and take a couple days to spend over there, but our main place is STT. We are younger (late 20's & early 30's) and no kids so STT fits us nicely. Feels like a 2nd home actually. One trip is planned for Thanksgiving week and the next is for Memorial day 09. So with 2 upcoming trips I have been visiting the boards a couple times each day. Love this place for all the awesome info you can pick up!

Agree with Schnell. We have mainly done STT. We have a TS there and have gone to the USVI about 9 times in the past. We are missing it a lot right now. Had 1st baby in December 2006 and have been busy with him. Thought we would get back this year. Expecting 2nd baby in October. Surprise. I lurk but comment when I have something to say. We too enjoy STT and have always felt at home there. We always visit STJ and the BVI when we are down just haven't had a chance lately.

I am guilty of lurking. I do not post alot as I have only been to St.John once. This past April my husband and I spent a wonderful week staying at Dream Come True.
I have been spending alot of my free time planning our next trip, including looking for a house to hold all eight of us in our party. My family thinks I am obsessed. Fathers Day, Mothers Day all included drinks from recipes picked up in St John (everyone enjoyed)
Thanks again for the wealth of infomation here.
I sometimes wish I lived on the east coast to make it easier to get to the islands.

Guilty as charged! My wife and I have been twice - 2 years ago today we celebrated our 25th wedding aniversary on STJ on our first trip. We are contemplating a third trip this September.

nothintolose - we weren't planning on telling the children at all and having them figure it out when we get to the airport and the gate says San Juan. However, they will figure out we are going somewhere when we spend the night before at a hotel by the Newark Airport. We usually don't tell them that we are going on vacation until we put them in the car that morning. It is really easier that way and they are far better behaved the whole week.

DaveS007 - We will be at the Gallows at that time also. Will you have any children with you?

I mostly lurk. Hi, everyone!

Good time to thank everyone who has posted trip reports lately. Thanks for the StJ fixes!

It's going to be a long time before we get back. We are scheduled to take a Disney Cruise to St. Thomas and St. Croix in February though (my husband's idea, I'm kind of dreading it but we'll see).
