Great shots! Am I crazy or can I hear the sounds of waves as I watched them?

The little boy is too cute (he is the singer James' son) and it was great seeing Tigger - thank you!

Beautiful.....the sunset series was indeed perfect, and I loved the door/building/color contrast series as well....only in the Caribbean. Thank you!

Fantastic!

Beautiful pictures. The colors are amazing! I must ask....are you using special filters or up-ing the color in Photoshop? Whatever they are all "keepers"

Thanks a bunch everyone! Glad you enjoy them! My husband teases me that I have a photo of every square inch of the island??? :? Maybe close...

mbw...yes! That is Tigger! Hooray!

jmq...yes! Canon does rule. (AFAIC!)

chicago...feel free! I posted 'em to share 'em! :D

jimg20...I was a little nervous that I would not see enough of a difference to justify the 40D purchase. Very nervous...actually. This was my first trip out with it. I really really had fun. With time and a little practice...it will absolutely be worth the $$$. I can't wait to start shooting in RAW!!! Ken McGuire (fellow forumite) was key to my purchase. He was ultra helpful guiding me to the right camera. If only I could have his talent!!! Having said all that...the SD850IS rocks for a point & shoot. I cannot recommend that camera enough. The underwater setting on the 850 also rocks. Amazing (to me) to take the underwater shots & video with such ease. I can't wait for you to see the 40D shots!

rebel...thanks! Unfortunately...I didn't have the 40D out the first week we were there...just wasn't feelin' it. I needed the R&R from work & thought I had plenty of time left to get it out. Turns out... a good case of bronchitis and the worst weather week on STJ we have ever experienced kinda put the kybosh on some anticipated camera days. Such is life! Already have the itch for October...

Pickle...have at it!!! :P

Nancy...good catch on James' boy! I haven't captioned the pictures yet...may not! There's just too many! And...he IS too cute!!! If they are still on island in Oct...I'll take them a copy!

snorkel...I do have a polarizing filter for the 40D...not that I'm good at using it!?!?!? Some of the shots are edited with Kodak software...enhancing the lighting and color. I love the Kodak software...not to mention that it's free!!!

lisa...the sunset. I was seriously "SO on the beach" that night. It happened the night of the Blues Festival Jam at the Beach Bar. Live zydeco...crystal clear water...white sandy beach...ice cold Amstel Light...and THE perfect sunset. I would have died a happy woman!

Great stuff, JC. Really enjoyed looking through your photos. Amazing color in the kayak shots - where were those? How do you like Zenfolio? I think the gallery looks great there.

I'll be back on island in 6 weeks. I wish it were tomorrow, and you brought it to my office today, so thanks for that.

Ken!!! Hi! Thanks for the props! I LOVE Zenfolio! Hope you don't mind that I tagged along! I retired from PBase after seeing your galleries at Z. It's soooooo easy! I am SO glad that you chimed in. For those of you who haven't seen Ken's photos...you MUST!

Ah...the kayaks. I obviously cannot get enough of the kayaks. They are on Cruz Bay beach between the new Bistro & the Rum Hut. For whatever reason...they are mesmerizing to me!

Can't wait for your next batch!!!

Jen - simply awesome! I pretty much maxed my memory stick during the sailing portion of our trip, so didn't get as many on STJ as I would have liked - but you did!!! I've already book marked your albums and will be revisiting often... Don't you just miss it??? I have got to start planning another...

Thank you so much!!!

WOW!! Those are awesome! They appear to be almost 3D even. Great eye and the colors are so vivid. I LOVE that shot on your 2nd set of the lil' blonde boy...how cute  Is he yours?

Anyway, I have a visit to STJ in Feb 2009 with a bunch of "newbies" so I have sent them each a link to your beautiful photos...hope you don't mind.

Thanks for sharing.
