KROBI,

The Shopper here,

As Rick G stated, we brought a small soft cooler last May with, Steaks, Chops & Chicken Breasts down & they were all frozen with no ICS or Koolie Packs.

We left Canada & had a 4 hour drive to Detroit, then spent the night in a hotel. Now we did bring the cooler into the room & put cooler & contents in the fridge over night then as carry-on. We left Detroit at 7:00 AM & arrived at the villa around 5:00 I think. So it was 12 hrs in travel that day alone.

One good thing with traveling in the cold of winter as we did in Jan, we did the same thing only we left the cooler in the car overnight as it was colder out there than in the room fridge.

As most have indicated, pack it as frozen as you can get it & tight, I agree that I think that is the ticket.

One last note, BBQ sauce doesn't freeze :cry: , On our first trip, I didn't really see a BBQ sauce I liked so in Jan I thought we would just bring a little sandwich bags with a few variety's that we like for the different meats we brought.
Well I tried to freeze it & no luck, must be the vinagar or something, anyway, I just hide it between the meat & I got it thru :lol:


We have already planned to bring meat again in May this year & are not concerned.

Is the meat that much more expensive than here on the mainland or is it a quality issue?

We get good meat at Starfish, especially earlier in the day. It's a convenience issue for us.
