Carebear-
If I told you you had to walk a mile in the snow to get a winning lottery ticket, would you do it? Yeah me too! so relax, get as much rest in transit as possible and when you get to St.John go with the flow. If you are still tired go with the relaxing at the villa plan but if not, take your chair and cooler, stop at Starfish or Peace pine (cheaper) get some drinks & snacks and head for Hawksnest or Trunk.
Most of all RELAX, the flight out of Philly is great and gets you to STT early. When you get to STT get a rum punch or drink at the bar,get your luggage and head to Red hook for the 2pm ferry, your vacation is just getting started. Have Fun!

Like everyone said, don't be nervous, you are going to love it!
Of course, if you really don't want to go, I could go in your place!

How exciting for you!!! We also fly from out west (SLC), and it is a long travel day. Believe me, you'll forget all about it as soon as you're there.
We love to get to the villa that first night and just park it. Enjoy the euphoria. Throw some meat on the grill, have a drink, have a soak, rest and rejuvenate while toasting to your good fortune.

I'm glad you will be getting to STJ when the sun is up. That will give you a big adrenaline boost. Sleep when you can, eat when you can, bring some food too. Bring some change to call the villa management company when you arrive in case your mobile phone is not working. Remember that things move slower in the islands. Say "Good Day" first as a greeting when you speak to people.
Have a great time!
Cheers, RickG
