Loved it! (As expected.)
So what's a better first-time experience, Tuna Down Now, or meeting Jesus?

Absolutely gorgeous photos as always, Vicki! The hummingbird shot is amazing.
Thanks for your report and photos, they brightened up a dreary afternoon.

Great report Vicki! Awesome pictures too - I'll have to go and look at the entire album, but I appreciate you lugging those lenses around!!

Vicki, we were at Shipwreck Landing the same night! I had to stop reading and reply when I saw the picture of Ken, because my husband got into a long conversation with him that night at the bar. I posted the picture in my last trip report, as well as a picture of our group at Shipwreck:

I wish I had known you were there! It would have been very nice to meet you. Hopefully our boys weren't the leering ones (or our husbands for that matter!)
Now, back to reading your fun report...

FF - LOL! Don't worry. I gave Jesus your picture. He said he'd look you up next time you're down.
GQH - Canon Rebel Xti with standard 18-55, ultra wide 10-22 zoom, and 70-200 L series zoom. My first time using the zooms, so I am still very much in the learning stage with them!
LMG - I don't have to answer that question, because you can find out for yourself in just a few days!! Tell Jesus Vicki says "Hi."
Chrisn - Yep. You pegged it. Is that not the best ice-cream EVER? It's $7 at Lily's, but sooooo worth it.
Chicagoans - I know exactly where your group was sitting! You were still there when I arrived. I can't believe I missed a chance to meet you. (and no, the leerers were not from your table!!

Vicki--thank you for the wonderful report and the fabulous pictures. I would love to do a solo journey to St. John just to see it the way you did and do what you want when. I could eat Tuna Down Now every day. Except I guess the mercury content could be a problem. Anyway, I too am going to forward your report to a friend who hasn't been. It says it all. The only complaint I have is that you don't have a picture of Jesus! I need to know what he looks like when I get there in June.

Such a fun report! Thanks for taking the time to write it out for us and I'm glad you had such a good time! I had one day flying solo on our last trip and it was wonderful. I loved being able to go and do whatever I wanted, when I wanted. Everyone was worried that I'd be bored...not a chance!!
Thanks again,
Nicolle

Vicki, Excellent trip report and photos. I know exactly what you mean about STJ being like 'going home'. It's that way for me. Such a total zen state of mind. Thank you for taking the time to share!

I loved your report and your photos are gorgeous! In all the years we've been going to STJ (10), we've never eaten at the Beach Bar, mostly because we are always with the utes, we thought it was mostly a bar and didn't realize that they put out great food, too. I keep hearing about how good the Tuna is so this time for sure we're going to go.
Vicky, forgive me if this has already been discussed, but did you use the Rebel for the underwater shots? I've googled around but haven't found an underwater housing to fit it and besides I'd be terrified of a leak. Your photos are fabulous!
