Edit: We were able to push our trip up three days - gives us the same amount of time on island, but saves a couple of vacation days since we'll be there over two weekends now.

So we'll be arriving on Halloween, and we should be able to make it to the big forum Beach Bar soiree' on the 2nd.

Woo-hoo!

Chet, sounds good. That should beat surfing the Indian River Inlet in January!!!
Augie - that's NSIRI (North Side Indian River Inlet) south of Dewey Beach, DE. The rock jetty holds the sand, and surfable waves. SSIRI is good on a northeast wind, but those jacking A-frames pound the beach.

Rick - the shack is rented all summer, but I am intrigued by the thought of a pre-planning party after Labor Day...there are many Forumites in the area.

Ja Augie, we're talking 6 mil wet suits in Delaware in January! You wear wet suits in Florida? You must be one of those folks that complains about not having a heated pool on STJ!

I'm glad you'll be on island that week. Its looking like a big forum group.

VA Girl, I enjoy the sunset over Great Cruz Bay, but I'll settle for a fine moon as well.

Cheers, RickG

Rick and Chet,

Depending on how quickly the water temps drop, December through at least March is wetsuit weather for me! Now I've never surfed in any thing thicker than 3 mil, but I'd turn blue with no suit during the winter! I do have a more robust suit for diving (you know - thermoclines!)

I'd heard of people surfing in Delaware, New Jersey, etc. but I figured that was just a myth.

It does sound like the forum folk will be taking over the island that week.

Aw- hells no! If Jorge & Barbara go then we will just feel silly if we don't get nekkid

And "adults" is such a relative term (I guess we are all technically adults.)

Have fun on your beer adventure Rick. Shame you are leaving summer like weather.

You just participate as far as your comfortable. Then, make another pitcher of blackout punch. Everyting is going to be just fine.

I am swearing off that stuff. I don't think the nekkidness would be as embarrassing as the drunken dancing

I might have to join AA when we get back

AA is great. I use my AA card when I'm drinking and get frequent flyer miles.
