Let's see first trip in 2001 with Gromit & her hubby. I blame them for the addiction and the deficit in my vacation budget!

I knew right away I'd be back but Hubby and I agreed to every other year. Now, I am desperately trying to whittle that down to at least 1x a year. I'd go 2-3 times a year if I could talk him into it.

May 2001, May 2003, May 2005, November 2006 (schedule but postponed), November 2007, (trying to sneak in November 2008), June 2009.

It is tougher with the little one in school now working around or with her breaks as best as I can.

We love to travel and typically do 2 decent vacations a year with several long weekends thrown in there. Baby boy is too little for Europe yet, but in a couple of years I hope we'll be back to our Spring in STJ, Europe in the fall schedule.

My work a day life is so busy and structured that I really really am having a harder and harder time making myself take "working/touring" vacations. I just want to veg on the beach!

Honeymoon in 02. This June will be our 7th trip back. We briefly toyed with trying to do something else but we weren 't confident that it could get any better. Why mess with perfection?

We first went to STJ in the mid-80s. It's changed a lot since then and it's not such a good fit for us any more. We haven't been there for a couple of years. This past fall we went to Virgin Gorda and enjoyed it a lot. It's more like STJ was when we first fell in love with it. I'd return there and we also really love Kauai. I'd like to get to the Grenadines and recently I've started researching Barbuda, which really intrigues me. Some year I'd love to get to the South Pacific.

But I expect we will go back to STJ again. It has a special place in our hearts and we have friends who live there. We also want to get there one last time before Maho folds up the tents. We stayed at Maho on our first couple of trips and want to stay there one last time out of gratitude and to rekindle memories of how it was and how we were.

This year will be fifth and possibly sixth trip. We travel to the islands twice each year, once with the family, and once to St. John. This year, my FIL said he's considering Caneel Bay for the family. Needless to say, I have been talking up St. John at every opportunity, lol. We just both completely fell in love with St. John on our first trip, and I can't imagine not going back.
