I am a planner. I told my husband I need at least 2 beach vacations a year.
Now I am thinking 3 would be better.
At least one has to be STJ, better yet two.
Oh well, I can dream, can't I?

I have send you a PM with my first topic at all in Tripadvisor telling a little about what we experienced in Praque. There is also an advice about changing Euro. I don't know if it's the same about dollars.

Another advice is to be aware about the prices in the restaurants near St. Nicholas Church. It's much more
expensive there. We ordered an Irish Coffee and paid the double price of what we should have paid in Denmark- and belive me i's not cheap here even though we don't have Euro.

Reading this topic is a little worrying because I have no vacations planned just now. So what's wrong with me? I'm a Taurus, but so is Ky girl!

But this year I was not treated. 5 days in Praque in December, 2 weeks in Spain in April, 3 weeks
in USVI in July and 10 days in Spain in October.

Sweet Christine and I are hitting the Czech Republic for your reasons, plus awesome beer! We had friends just get back and they had a wonderful time. There are a lot of people we know hitting the Czech Republic to avoid the depressed $/Euro echange rate. $8 beers in the Euro countries is a signal that pretty much everything has become VERY expensive.

We head out January 10 and are staying in Prague, Ceske Budejovice, Ceske Krumlov and Plzen with day trips. I think or most expensive hotel is $90 per night in downtown Prague.

Well, you can't drink beer all of the time. Our friends who just got back said the Rick Steves guide was very good.

I am loving 5 star accomodations at 2 star prices. Plus I find that you can negotiate if you're staying for an extended period of time. They cut their rates in half for us and gave us two nights free.

Hubby and I aren't really THAT into beer, but when in Rome!

Also, I just got the Hedonists Guide to Prague- very good. I have all the other guides, maps and language books (a stack about a foot high).

Looks liek dining has come a long way there too. Totally doing research to find the best restaurants and cafes to hang out in. The nice thing about an extended stay in one place is you can get to know it well and take a breather without rushing off to the next destination. We did that with Florence, Italy and honestly this style of travel suits us better.

You'll have to let me know how your trip turned out!!

Disneyworld next week. Hey, don't make fun of me! We're taking our niece and nephew. I told them they can't come to St. John with us until they learn how to swim. They're working on it...

Liamsaunt-- We did Disney the first week of December last year -- and we don't have kids. It was a blast. I highly recommend getting tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Hubby was not thrilled of course at first but he really got into it after a while.

I've been to WDW about 5 times over my lifetime at different times of the year and I have to say that hands down early December was awesome- greta weather and no crowds. The holiday decorations throughout the "World" are amazing and don't forget to stay for Illuminations at Epcot -- their fireworks display for the holidays is over the top!! Oh and visit the Osbourne family spectacle of lights at MGM! It's unreal!

I am not easily entertained so when I say it's good, it's good.

Oh, I know it's good. We've been taking them every year since Liam was 2. This is our third year going in that week. I've got the whole thing down to a science by now, it's pretty sad. I blame my parents. They took us a few times when we were growing up and now I am permanently infected with the Disney virus!

Oh, yes! I was a travel consultant, and most of our travel was subsidized by the agency. When we retired in 2001 we had to go cold turkey for about 4 yrs due to family and health issues. We got down to 2 wks before a Tahiti cruise in 2003 and had to cancel due to Husband health problem. We did go to Alaska in 2005. Now G'daughter is graduating HS and wants to go to VI next June. So this trip will be the first time back to STJ since 1994. We have Sol Inclination booked. Going with two sons and wives and two g'kids. We gave everyone a vote and gave 7 potential villas. Husband and I both liked Croix Vista very much also-but don't see much about it on-line. I hope I don't keel over from excitement by the time June rolls around.

We to are traveholics.We have been visiting caribbean islands every 4 months for the the last 4 years most of the trips were to St.John. Its an addicting island.

I used to be petrified of flying. We went to Jamaica on our honeymoon and never went anywhere we couldn't drive for over 20 years. In 2002, my husband won a trip back to Jamaica. I don't know what it was but all of a sudden, I had to have more. Since 2002, we've been to:

St. Kitts
Las Vegas twice
a Mexican Rivera cruise
Hawaii
Florida (3 times)
South Africa, Botswana, and Zambia (Victoria Falls)
Spain
Aruba

We're heading back to STJ in April and I'm doing
a girls trip to Cozamel in July.

Once the bug gets you, it's hard to stop. If I don't
have something to research and plan, I feel totally lost!!

Just back from STJ last Saturday and boy you will love Sol Inclination. Hope to have a trip report and villa reviews out by the end of next week.
Have a trip to Florida planned for mid-February to mid-March, then April to Las Vegas to see friends and then back to STJ next summer with our nephews again. Granddaughter graduates from 8th grade in June so maybe a surprise for a few days with her too.

You do not need professional help. You just need another trip to STJ planned. I started saying about Tuesday that I can make it to June 09. Maybe I'll just not unpac and stow away with you next week!

I'm late chiming in, but I just wanted to say "me too! me too!" I don't think I'd stay sane without something to look forward to. It keeps me in a "happy place" to know it's only a matter of time before the next one. (Can't say the same for the bank account.)
