I'm in the "what's in the freezer, fridge, cabinet that will make a meal before we go on vacation" mode. So tonight it was some chicken legs inspired by Elizabeth and Liamsaunt! I baked them in the oven low and slow for a while and then basted them with a mix of the following:
A half bottle of Abita Amber beer (yes I drank the other half)
Soy
Jerome's
honey
some bottle KC Style BBQ sauce
dijon
and generous amounts of Tony's Creole seasoning.
For a make shift meal these were darn good

I also made a fennel gratin (instead of the celeriac), and some sautéed spinach.
Tonight I am making Marcella Hazan’s recipe for roast chicken with two lemons, some Brussels sprouts lardons, and some kind f potato (not sure what yet…maybe mashed).

Liamsaunt -
Ever hear of a little show called "Top Chef"? I think you'd be perfect. The types of dishes you make would never even cross my mind to make. I agree about not showing the husband these posts - I am inadequate in the kitchen too!
Very impressive!

I cook my puff pastry seperate to keep it nice and crunchy. I have a couple of squares left and am trying to think of a dessert to make with them if anyone has any ideas.
Tracy, I have heard of that show, but never watched it. I'll have to check it out. I have to say though, I could never be a chef. Cooking at home and cooking professionally are completely different animals!
What has everyone else been cooking? Photos please!
