I think cloud9 is on Gifft Hill. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Lulu, I think that Coral Rays looks great! It has been on my list for a while.

Cloud Nine is on Gifft Hill. It has awesome views.
My only hesitation about Starlit Escape is that I totally got spoiled by my views out on Maria Bluff, and it doesn't seem to really have a view except up on the Happy Hour Tower, or at least that's all I can see on the web site.
Coral Rays does look nice, though. So does Little Plantation.

I don't know if I've looked at that one; I'll have to check it out.
I do like having a pool because I like to unwind there after a long, hot day, but I don't think it's a dealbreaker for me.

Lulu---I've read a number of good reviews on Le Mer---I'd look into that. Smallish pool but otherwise looks like a great house.

Here's my suggestion. Consider the South Shore Villa. It has 4 bedrooms and two extra single beds that can be setup for a total sleeping arrangement of 10.
It was just named a "Best Bet for Families" by Home Away Traveler.

There's also a video at
http://www.on-stjohn.com/2007/10/28/vil ... ore-villa/
Another suggestion for a large party would be to consider renting Sol Inclination and the South Shore Villa. Both villas are located about 100 yards from each other and both are very private. They are managed by different management companies, but this shouldn't be a problem.
In the spirit of full disclosure I do have an interest in the South Shore Villa; but even if I didn't, I would still be recommending it. In any case, there are lots of great villas on St John and the important decision is already made. You are coming to the best island in the world!

Apologies if these have been mentioned already. These are some more I looked at for our group:
Casa Luna, Carolina Ridge, 5bed/4ba, pool, hot tub, views; vivacations.com
Ixora, Ajax Peak, 5bed/4.5 ba, pool, hot tub, views, caribbeanvilla.com
In The Stars, ridge above Coral Bay, 4bed + loft/4.5 ba, big lap pool, hot tub, views, vivacations.com
