thanks for another great report

I need to take more time when I snorkel. That squid pictures is sooo pretty. Another great report. I'm pretty sure we ran into the same person at Low Key. I tried shopping there on two trips and I will not go back. Went to Cruz Bay Watersports and couldn't have asked for nicer people. We do like Woody's though! I'm very picky about when I go and what the crowd looks like. We never stand in the street! I want to gently nudge those people too.

Wonder if Anthony can start a program?

I actually did graze someone with the side view mirror last time but they literally WOULD NOT MOVE & I was going super slow. And I didn't do it on purpose. I promise!

I am normally a rush around kind of gal, but not there. I take it easy. But have some common courtesy and stay on the curb. Or risk getting hit by Flip-Flop's mirror. Accidentally of course.

Your pictures are amazing, both on land and under water. What kind of camera do you have?

You do a better job than I on trip reports!Love the fish looking into the camera and all the other pics.I knew of the ruins out to Waterlemon.Did you know about Windy hill ruins?It looks down on waterlemon and is located off the Johnny Horn trail.I have never visited there,but someday I shall.Parafins......

Roe, we use the Humann/DeLoach guides to ID the fish and creatures. I think they are really worth picking up. Here is a link to the books on amazon:

You can buy them individually--this is a link to the set. We also have their reef fish behavior book, which was really helpful to read also. All these books are available in full and abridged versions at the NPS store at the Park dock too.

Augie, nope not that storm--I don't think our days have started to overlap yet. We arrived on the 11th, so this rainstorm was the evening of the 13th.

Wow, what a great report and pictures. Thanks for taking the time to post. Your style makes it seem like we are right there, and makes us miss STJ even more.

We love to slowly snorkel and take it all in because you notice so much more. (Of course, the first time snorkeling on every trip is not like that because we just want to see EVERYTHING at once, until we relax and get into island mode.) I second the recommendation on the guide books. We have the set of 3 and they are great. (Very heavy, though! Don't travel with them like we did once.)

I'm glad you mentioned the ruins along the path to Waterlemon. I have never noticed them before. When we are going out there, we are sort of in a "hurry" and can't wait to get in the water and enjoy the wonderful snorkeling. On the way back, we are usually tired and hungry, so we can't wait to get to a restaurant and have lunch. My hubby loves to poke around ruins, so we'll notice them next time.

I'm also glad you mentioned the snorkeling at Yawzi Point and we plan to try it next time. Its nice to try something new and that one coral formation was really nice. Your momentary panic when you saw the waves crashing is something I could relate to. Even though I love being in the water, wear a safety vest and am very comfortable, there's something about being in a place where you can't get out and you can feel the power of the waves crashing that is a bit unnerving.
