I saw the video of Paul Pott the day after he won Britians Got Talent. I thought I was a dork for loving this guy. I have always loved opera, even though I'm a bumpkin from the sticks. It's so sad about Pavarotti. Thanks Linne, for bringing up this topic.
Translation for Linne.....Bumpkin = opposite of opera lover.

Another opera-phile here but that video clip you shared Linne cuts across the full-spectrum of music lovers, I think. The whole story & his performances just touch the human heart. What talent--and what talent to be wasted had he not been given this opportunity.
Thank you so much for sharing this Linne. I would have otherwise totally missed it. I'm so glad that you did not just participate in this forum leading up to your trip but also took the much-appreciated time to post your lovely detailed trip reports & are continuing to join in with this community--you are a special part of it!
I also loved everybody else's responses, as well as all the outpouring of love and empathy that's been demonstrated on this forum so much recently as well as in the past--this truly is a community. You're a great group!

Wow ... that was great. I enjoyed seeing the shocked faces of the judges when he began seeing. Thank you very much for sharing it Linne. I would have missed it too, otherwise.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. Amazing to me how opera can evoke such emotion when you have NO clue what they are singing about. Very emotionally touching.

For once i disagree with Linne...I think this young man is quite attractive compared to most male star/singers...he's got talent, and heart.
