Andrea266 wrote:At Supreme Corner (the 180 degree turn just after Pastory Gardens), instead of taking that turn, you go straight back into a neighborhood by the dumpster. Follow that road back, continue bearing to the left, and finally make a right up an EXTREMELY steep (but paved) driveway, and the villa is up there.
The house next door is still under construction.
Thanks Andrea! Hey, what do you do for a living/pay-the-rent on STJ?
Cheers, RickG

I work a professional job here on island. I gave such good directions b/c I live back in that neighborhood. It's pretty much a local's neighborhood, besides the trailside villa. It's a great area!

Thinking about CTC for 2009. Have read reviews of other properties in which people complain about it being so windy that you can't even enjoy being outside the villa. I am hoping that this is not the case at CTC - especially with how enclosed the pool area appears to be from the photos? Can anyone comment on this?

smiles, we stayed there July 2007 and no wind problem at all. It was very comfortable with nice amenities. No pool view and no clothing optional. If you have specific questions, I'd be happy to answer. We would stay there again. As a matter of fact, I wish we'd stayed there this summer!

Thanks, pjayer. I appreciate the quick response. We have a 4 yr old and 7 yr old- we've done STJ with them in 2007 and they loved it! Would CTC layout work for kids (they generally sleep in the same bed on vacation so that's not an issue)?

Yes, I think it's perfect for children that age. There are two equal bedrooms separated by the kitchen/dining/living area. I believe it's about 1200 square feet total, so the bedrooms aren't too apart.

Steve S, I believe you've push pinned Villa Tamrindo (
http://www.villatamarindovi.com/) which is next door to CTC. CTC is the villa to the right of your push pin.

I can add CTC to the Google villa map...
Is this the correct location?

I'm confused, which is nothing new.

CTC has a red roof, so I don't think either of those can be correct. Unless, the one Steve pinpointed is CTC while it was under construction and before construction began on Villa Tamarindo.

Sherban-Is there anyway to tell when this particular satellite photo was taken? The reason I'm asking that question is, as pjayer noted above, if the area of the concrete driveway which serves CTC and Tamarindo is the one to the left of where the pushpin is now, then this photo would have been taken when CTC was under construction which would have been in 2005-2006. It's clear to me the villa to the right of the end of the concrete driveway is under construction and IF that is CTC, then it's also clear that Tamaraindo has not even broken ground. When we were at CTC in July 2007 Tamarindo was fully complete on the outside except for landscaping and some finish work was being done on the inside.
Also, as pj notes above, CTC has a red metal roof which we have of photos from our visit and which can be seen on the CTC villa website here:
http://www.caneeltrailside.com/outside.html
AT EDIT: I am going to try to post a link to Yahooo Maps which clearly shows CTC with a red roof on the right at the end of the concrete driveway shown on both satellite photos. The Yahoo Maps version was obviously taken after the Google Earth version. Here is the link, although you may have to navigate around to locate it:

I have also located the same View on MS Virtual Earth. See is this works.

I don't know how to verify Google photo dates...that stuff is subject to change too...
Ok, so it looks like Steve S had nailed the location correctly with his original pin but the lack of the structure had confused the "visual information".
Got it, I'll log the location that Steve had indicated.
I looked at Flash Earth and there is a building with a red roof there too...

We're staying here in January so I'll report on CTC after we've stayed there-although this will be our first real trip (had a quickie cruise visit in 2000)to STJ so I'll have nothing to compare it to.
PJayer, Curious as to why you say not clothing optional by the pool as it seems to be quite enclosed in the courtyard?
