So now I'm confused. Rapture is in the Virgin Grand Estates (really nice villa). Where is that in relation to Gifft Hill?

Hey chrisn,
I'll see what I can do.
You don't exactly get the info from Google Earth. It just shows you aerial photos. You have to research and piece it together. I look at the villa websites and photos, go to the area on GE, look for a house that has the features of that one, roof color, number of buildings, pool location, view, etc. and when I'm pretty sure of its identity, I label it. Using other info, I figure out which villas are next to, above or below it and try to confirm it by comparing pictures and descriptions, and I mark them.
It's really sort of a data base I'm building.
I've got some info on Orchid Hill and I'll post it soon. I can't write a short post.

and I've got to get something done today.

Reason 7593 why this board is fun. People like us can sit and peer at Google Earth until we go half blind while our spouses shake their heads and walk away.
AND IT'S OK!

Privacy was a bit of an issue for us and we are considering Cloud 9 for next year. Reading stuff on this forum and actually speaking with the rental agent for Cloud 9 I've come to the conclusion that even though the villas Palm, Coconuts and Cloud 9 are close together privacy is not a problem....you can still "all over tan"!

I have heard, however, that occasionally you can HEAR people/music from the close by villas but its not a real problem.
COLEEN - Have a wonderful time, can't wait to hear all about C9 and your entire trip.

Correction - I guess it is Seawatch, Palm and Cloud 9 that are close together......

2catlimit, Paloma Blanca and Windchime are on the road that connects with GHR, directly across from Coconuts. Windchime is first on the left and then Paloma much further along on the right. A Son Tour is very near Capiz, which is where we stayed in May. When coming from Centerline road it is on the left side of the road, just before Capiz, I think. I only ever noticed it when we left the driveway and now I forget which way we were going.
I'd love it if you'd publish a similar post on ALL the villas that you are aware of. I love the info and actually finding villas when we are on island. Do you know how you get to Sago Palms?

stayed at c9 thrice and you will get some sounds from palm & seawatch guests if they are on deck. you can also see folks when they are on deck of seawatch (which is slightly higher than c9)from area of hot tub but the bedroom wing blocks view closer to pool and kitchen as i recall. best to check the view if modest but the real view is to the west!

We stayed at Seawatch and definitly worked on our all over tans. Not out past the bedroom on the deck but closer in and in the pool. I never really noticed noise from anywhere. It was nice. THey are expanding the deck out farther so I hope they are updating it too. I loved the location and the view. The house was set up well for privacy. We slept in the room closest to the pool. we could step out of our room and go straight to the pool in 2-3 steps! Morning sun came in early but who really wants to sleep late when you have those views to wake up to?

FYI
C'est Bleu is #3B-44 and Rapture is #3B-53 in the Virgin Grande Estates. Hope you can pinpoint that on your map. Both houses are quite obvious on Google Earth.

Ben,
Thanks so much. I'm afraid I can't see much of VGE right now with the cloud cover in the photos. I can put them on the map with the numbers, though. That's exactly what I needed. Did you happen to notice any other villas on the same road?

Hey Karen,
I'd love to share any info I can. Problem is I don't have a very efficient way to do it.
It took quite a long time to compose the Gifft Hill lineup I posted. There's just so many villas and so many areas. I would love to have a detailed aerial map that I could mark the villas on and post it or send it to people, sort of like the Trailbandit did with hiking trails.
I just don't know how to do it yet.
I also need more trips to St John to do research.

In the mean time, I'll try to answer anything I can on specific areas or villas.
I don't know how to get to Sago Palms but it looks like it may be accessed by the North Shore Road turning up one of the roads/driveways across from and just past Gibney Beach, toward Terrahawk, Hawksnest, or Hawksview Estate. There also looks like there's a "road" or something that cuts over to the left from Centerline Road, not far past where Rte 10 intersects it. I know Sago and its couple of neighbors are in the middle of Park land so I don't know exactly how the access goes. I've asked how to get there and maybe someone knows and will respond.
Thanks for the info on Windchime and Paloma Blanca. It was helpful.
