We had a harpist do all of our ceremony music - she was wonderful! There was some Pachelbel and some other traditional music.

For the music at our reception: first dance was "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?" (Van Morrison) has some emotional meaning to us.

Next dance was "What a Wonderful World" - Louis Armstrong

A good bride and dad song: "Butterfly Kisses"

We got all the women out to dance together to "Girls Just Want to Have Fun". That was fun! (We did NOT do the tossing the garter/bouquet thing. I was 31 when I got married and was so tired of being dragged out with the "single girls" to catch a bouquet!)

Congrats and enjoy!

PS -- we had a soloist sing "All I Ask" from Phantom of the Opera. It was beautiful.

Thanks for a little trip down memory lane! (14 years!)

Love of My Life
Sammy Kirshaw

We got married in STT on Secret Harbour with a reception at the Bluemoon Cafe. We played the music using a cd player - worked out fine.

You are the love of my life
And you are the reason I’m alive
And baby baby baby
When I think of how you saved me
I go crazy

I’ve never known love like this
And it fills me with a new tenderness
And I know I know I know
You’re in my heart you’re in my soul
You’re all I can’t resist

And I need to tell you
The first time I held you
I knew you are the love of my life

I spent a lifetime waiting
Always hesitating until you
I was lost so deep inside my shell
’til you came and saved me from myself
Now all I really know
Is I need you

And you are the love of my life
All the joy and tears that I cry
And baby baby baby
You don’t have to say a word
I see it in your eyes

As we stand together
I promise forever
’til the day that I die
You are the love of my life

I spent a lifetime waiting
Always hesitating until you
I was lost so deep inside my shell
’til you came and saved me from myself
Now all I really know
Is I need you

You are the love of my life
You are the reason I’m alive

Wonderful suggestions! Our wedding is on Hawksnest Beach with Anne Marie Porter early that morning. I'm still deciding what/if any music we'll use on the beach. We are heading back to the villa after a little beach time and having our party there.

A few of the songs we're planning to use

~It's Friday, I'm in Love by The Cure (a story to this song. I travel extensively with my job, but am almost always home on Friday. This song has been around for years, but means so much to us that we planned our wedding for a Friday morning). it's fun to "silly" dance to.

~This is my life (Stained)

~Everlong (Foo Fighters)

~Better Together (Jack Johnson)

I loved the suggestion from kimberlysea Love of my Life by Sammy Kirshaw. I will be searching for this song today!

Best Wishes on your upcoming nuptuals and honeymoom.

Based on the songs you listed that you like (great ones by the way), you should check out the soundtrack to 50 First Dates! Some GREAT reggaeish remixes of 80s songs. Fantastic CD.
