Though I live out of a suitcase most weeks, I grew up near Statesville, own a house on Oak Island, and graduated from NC State. I guess I'm as North Carolina as you can get! And all these fellow NC'ers are dragging me out of Lurkdom! I just got back from STJ...still reeling from post-trip happiness- YEAH!

Born and raised in Wilmington, left for Virginia, returned to Wilmington and have not left since... except for the occasional trip to STJ
Can't wait to get back there this Nov!

All you NC'ers have the top rated beach this year. Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach (

Well Obsessed, I wish you could keep secrets better. Not many know about this spot.
BUT, I am sure I could find a boat for a little visit...Ocracoke is only 60 miles east from here. Usually a nice beam reach this time of year. You have heard Texas is a whole other country, well Ocracoke Island is a whole other world.

OK... lurker coming out! I have been a lurker on this board since our first stj trip 4 years ago. We will be down for our third in 3 weeks.
Anyway... sleehog = goheels! I am sure this will offend some dookies or wolfies!
I am gong to be begging for info (after I sober up) for the upcoming trip.
