We've only flown Delta in the past and had great luck with them, even when we were using frequent flier miles. This time we booked USAir because the rates were $200 cheaper than Delta. That's the last time price will make a decision for me!
Good luck with convincing your kids. My girls will tell them that they have been to St John 4 times with a 21" bag. They didn't miss anything they left at home!

Ok you guys have inspired me. Sort of. I think we are going to try to do a carryon a piece for those who can manage their own bag. AND 1 big duffel for the group to check. Things that would be nice to have but aren't super essential or non-replaceable if it gets lost. You'll have to stay tuned to see if its possible.
Here's JUST the luggage for our road trip to the beach last week for the four of us. 2 of whom are quite small

If you don't count my purse, the beach bag or the bag o toys, its only a bag a person. So what a body could fit in some of them.
If Vicki can do it then so can I. Maybe. Sound confident don't I!

				Flip Flop -
Is that a "Kitchen Sink" I see sticking out between the bags. Holy Cow - Looks like the Griswold"s going on one of their vacations.
So, you say your taking "Carry On" to the islands - planning on flying on "Air Cargo". Just kidding of course.

Hey, two of the bags we lost are exactly like the floral duffles FF showed in her post. Maybe you snouldn't take them into STT due to bad karma.

FlaGeorge - Very funny...its an illness ok, I am a girl I can't help it. I don't care what Vicki says.
MB - great minds. . . and no not a Vera, a very cheap knockoff I found in the local giant of all places. Its quickly become my favorite bag because it has at least 6 little pockets inside for stuffing various things so they don't all just fall to the bottom.
Indy --- maybe I have your bags

I am so sorry about your lost luggage!

My nephew was on the 3pm USAir to Philly last Saturday. The rest of us were on American and we literally walked right up to the open self serve kiosks. He waited in line forever, but thankfully he got his luggage.
Keep us posted!

And don't make me post the other picture of the pile of stuff we could take because we were driving ... beach chairs, beach toys, FOOD, pack n play for the sweet boy, beach umbrella...the list was endless.
Thank goodness my husband is good w/ spatial relations. Even upon packing the car on the way back, he said "wow, I impressed myself with that one!"

You all aren't going to believe this one. About 11:00 this morning, I noticed that I'd had 2 missed calls on Sunday from an unfamiliar number. Now, I hadn't been using the phone (wasn't even on) because the charger was in my lost luggage. I called the number and it was USAir in Salisbury, MD. The woman who answered had no idea who had called, or why, but I explained our luggage dilemma to her. She replied that they'd had some lost luggage, but couldn't ship it anywhere because of the weather (?). She also said that they had shipped a bunch of stuff Fed Ex on Monday and if I'd give her my info she'd call me back. In the meantime, my doorbell was ringing, and when I answered it was the Fed Ex guy with all our bags!!! Hooray for Fed Ex!!! Interestingly, USAir's baggage information still doesn't know where our bags are...... Should I tell them???
