Spending $25 dollars to check a bag with all of our "necessities" in it. Still doing a back pack with one days clothing. We got tired of paying the big bucks to send 2 priority mail packages and having connections hold it for us. We would rather save the money and have connections hold our luggage as we stroll through Cruz Bay while we wait to go on the ferry back to STT. Of course if you have to change planes it could be risky.

We'll see what happens...I didn't want to mess with a checked bag...the box only cost me about 13$, we'll see if I regret it...

I banking on Pia being right....7-10!

Have never shipped anything before but was considering it for this year since we are staying 2 weeks. If I ship to Connections and I arrive on a Saturday I have no access to my stuff until Monday, correct?
Seems to defeat the purpose in my case.

Depending on which agency you rented from, you may be able to ship your box directly to them. I have done this with a couple of different agencies, and the boxes have been at the villa when we arrived.

It's not looking like I am going to get organized quickly enough to do that this time...

Hi folks,my experience with sending and receiving mail has been about 98-99 percent successful. I ship about 75 to 150 boxes a week and receive 30 to 50. Average time frame is 3 to 6 days. I firmly believe that the way a box is packed & labeled has a lot to do with this. The Post Office doesn't like bulging boxes, scribbled writing etc. Follow the rules and you should be ok.

We have always had to use connections, so 2 boxes x 13 + connections fee for all boxes+ we can only send about 1/2 what we really want to send... that is why we are checking a bag.

That's it, our box has been delivered to the villa company in Coral Bay......11 days via Priority Mail.
Our box is mostly sunscreen, shampoo, liquid medicines, etc....a medium size USPS Priority mail box.

We were shocked when our Priority Mail package actually arrived on island this past Friday - on schedule. We mailed it from New England on Tuesday. Record time! Express mail would have arrived on Thursday (for $95) and Priority Mail only took one more day and saved us $65. Maybe this was an aberration but, it sure was a nice change from the good old days when Priority Mail took up to 4 wks.
