Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to this precious family. Having lost my father at a young age, I can certainly empathize with the Chicagoans children. God Bless you all.

Thank you everyone for the very kind thoughts. We are doing alright with of course lots of ups and downs, and I am lucky to have literally hundreds of friends and neighbors who are keeping me organized and helping us get through.
The kids and I feel very blessed that we had a wonderful trip to STJ just last month. I know he pushed himself so hard to be with us there and we will always cherish those memories.
Throughout his illness, his mantra (from Jim Valvano's famous speech) was "Never Give Up, Never Surrender." I feel that's his legacy, and I hope any of you dealing with challenges can find some courage and strength in those words.

Katie, I was going to say "May God bless you." But it is obvious that He already has.
Let us know what we can do to make this easier on all of you.
