I've never stayed at Caneel but have seen the property through your report many times in the past. Every time I enjoyed it very much and this was no exception. Thank you for taking me there.

Love the eagle ray photos. We haven't seen them for a while either. Miss them.

Hello! New to the boards and deep in planning mode for our first trip to St. John. Really enjoyed reading your trip report...and thanks for the food photos - sushi for dinner at our house tonight!

Fave photos = arrow crab (in 2nd installment) and trunkfish in this installment. Trunkfish are the cutest creatures because of their pucker mouths!
We have yet to see an eagle ray....maybe THIS will be the year!

No inside joke. I am guessing, based on the time stamp, that Mr. Dome was possibly suffering from PWI.

Again, thanks for taking the time to post your reports. My husband isn't a forum type of Internet user but he will gladly read (and enjoy) your reports. It was fun the other night because after a tough week, reading your report got him jazzed about our trip Thursday.

Is that ice wine you brought from home? The bottle shape reminds me of ice wine.

2. No, not ice wine. It's a half bottle of sine qua non rose. Hard to get, and really tasty.

3. Yes, definitely. I liked the stairs, and the solitude once you got up there.

Good to know. I would like to add on a couple of nights after a Vila trip but I can't stomach the high season beachfront prices.
