Lots of different views to choose from, I love this one from Cinnamon Tarn Villa...but no real pool there...Le Chateau next door has a similar view and a pool...

I second (or third) Coconuts! I haven't stayed their... yet! We looked around and watched the sunset there one evening last November, it's a beautiful place with a beautiful sunset view!

And, sadly, le Chateau has been sold and is no longer a rental villa. Even worse, Sago Palms , one of the most beautiful villas with one of the most dynamic north shore views has also been sold and RAZED! Incredible!

I second Allesandra, we've stayed there twice. Amazing views from Palm Villa on Gift Hill. Although we've never stayed there I can imagine the beautiful sky and view from Reef Madness.
Happy hunting!! :)

Hey Libby when are you kids looking to go? We have our trip booked just haven't gotten a ticker together. We have a group of 12 from Rochester and a few more from Florida heading down 4/6. Hope to see ya there (if not here first) :D

Bummer that le Chateau is off the market. It's always been on my short list. Re: Sago Palms, I was told that the guy who owns the big house next door is the person who bought and tore down Sago Palms. He apparently has plans for a new house on the site. IIRC, it's not going to be a rental though.

For really nice sunset views, you could also look into the Maria Bluff neighborhood. Most of the homes there have views out over Pillsbury Sound to St. Thomas and great sunsets. One house I've stayed in that you might be able to get for your budget is Coqui. It has a nice pool, AC in the bedrooms, lots of outdoor space, and outstanding views. You cannot see any other houses from the decks on the property and the pool area is also private. It is listed for slightly over your budget but it's frequently offered for 20% off, especially if you are going in the off season.

Liamsaunt, I guess we got the same information. On Sago Palms. We stayed there in the summer of 2011, at the same time you were on island with your niece and nephew. It had always been on my short list, as was Le Chateau. We never got to Le Chateau as the BRs were not equal when we were looking to share with friends. But Sago was wonderful. It gave me much the same feeling as Anole, another simple house in a dynamic setting. We would love to do Coqui this trip. It would be ideal but they don't accept children! And we have an infant and toddler. Also looked at Colibri but has no AC in the main living area in July on the hot hot south shore.

For me a great sunset has to be over (into) water or at least distant islands.
Sol Inclination has great sunsets part of the year. When the sun is setting over Gifft Hill, it is not so special!
My favorites are western facing villas around Maria's Bluff. Also Cocolobo Hill(?), houses on Devers Bay and above.
My absolute favorites that I was lucky enough to stay in are Stoneridge and the point under Maria's Bluff, now a major compound.
