Here's my solution to the liquids problem: I buy sunscreen and a bottle of cheap shampoo there. The villa water is so soft that I have never needed conditioner! Also, it's so casual that I don't wear make-up there, or use hair spray, perfume, etc. I pack a 3 oz thing of contact lens solution and a small toothpaste lasts a week. A bar of soap and solid deoderant doesn't count as liquid.

Carry on is simple - even my fins and mask fit in. I bring very few clothes, but several bathing suits.

It's easy for our family of four. We have two people share a carryon suitcase and a snorkel gear bag. We bring sunscreen and other liquid necessities repacked into 3 oz travel bottles. If we need more, we buy on island at the drugstore or grocery store. Even with half of a carryon suitcase, each of us has clothes that we do not wear.

Staying Maho was the exception, since we had to bring towels. My beach towel is as large as the rest of my clothing!!

Cheers, RickG

You guys are inspiring me. I was going to try this last year but hubby's long fins wouldn't fit in the bag I have and he hates the shorties.
Maybe I'll just have to rethink the bag?????
