I prefer Little Lamshur - 2nd would probably be Vie's. Kiddle and Grootpan are neat for snorkling and exploring - not a sand beach so if you go there be sure you have some chairs! :)

Maho is by far my favorite beach but the last time there I went to Gibney beach and LOVED it. Just for a view and peaceful, serene place I also really loved Drunk Bay. It is totally rocks but the last time there I parked myself on top of one of the larger rocks and sat and watched the water crash up on the rocks and there was just something about it that I fell in love with. Definitely taking my big camera next trip to get some really good scenic pictures. I also loved looking at all the rock people that was made, definitely a must see even if you can't get in the water there.

My favorite has become Little Lameshur. TrvlKaren likes to sit on the beach and paint or read. I cannot sit for hours like she can. Lameshur allows both of us to have a great day.

If you like to explore, Little Lameshur is a great beach to use as a basecamp. You can hike out to Yawzi Point or a little longer walk to Europa Point or Europa Bay. If you are looking for a nice long walk you can walk to the Petroglyphs by following the Lameshur Trail. I did it last year and it was great. On the way I took the spurs to the Reef Bay House and Par Force. If you decide to do the long walk to the Petroglyphs bring PLENTY of water(and a snack). It will take you several hours to get there and back if you take your time and take in all the beauty of the island.

I have also heard that snorkeling is good at Europa Bay if the water is calm. It is on my list of things to do this year!

I barely snorkel and do not hike, so I am thinking Vie's will be my choice for new beach.

DeeDee, Vie's first choice or Little Lameshure with a stop at The Tourist Trap :). Lameshure road can be bad but it is worth it.

Love Vie's beach shabby chairs :)

I'm jumping on the Vie's bandwagon.
Wonderful woman! She and her daughter are an unbelievable delight, and the food & chilly drinks are a great bonus option; after a few hours on the beach we're bound to have an empty cooler... Whenever I've been there, there weren't more than a handful of people,if any at all. It's gorgeous! It's funny for me,though- after an awesome day at Vie's with her great grub, there's always room for a burger or grilled cheese at Skinny's on the way back to the villa... :D
The drive getting there seems long, but is invigorating. You get to see "the other-other side"! Make sure your gas tank is full!
Other than that, need I say it...?
Maho,Maho,Maho!
Smiles-
MJ

X, the hike to Yawzi point is maybe 10 mins max in flip flops and it has beautiful views. I wouldn't consider it a hike - more of a stroll and totally worth the effort :)

Little Lameshur HANDS DOWN! I'm shocked it's even up for debate. :P Different strokes for different folks. I think it's the best beach on the island.....

I like many places in Coral Bay but that may be because I am usually underwater. X -since you are kind of "anti" that side of the island, what made you decide to stay there? Just wondering! Hope you don't have too much withdrawal from the Cruz bay side- we always end up there at least 2-3 times anyway- Tap Room and Sun Dog call us after north shore snorkels!

I am not Anti-Coral Bay at all, it is just a total unknown for me, even after 5 years of living on island, hence all the questions. I really know next to nothing about it. Sad, huh?
We travel with another couple every other year and this year they picked Coral Bay. They love that side of the island so we agreed to give it a shot.
I am most looking forward to sunrises, I love that time of the morning and excited to check out new beaches.

We stayed at Bay Rum Breeze the sunrises were truly incredible, TTCheryl's pictures don't do them justice. Even the night owls slept with their curtains open to see the sunrises.
