Unlike SOME of us!
You never finished your report last time, did you!! It's never too late, you know. Island time and all that :D

I had been reading reports of the manta being around regularly since Thanksgiving. Hopefully it will still be there when you and Leslie get back.

Kentuckygirl, yes, I missed cooking. A lot! The problem with eating out so much is that we wasted a lot of food. Even sharing stuff, the portions were often just too big. When we rent a villa I usually bring restaurant leftovers home and repurpose them in to something for lunch the next day, but I really don't like cooking at Gallows. We keep all of the louvers open and I don't want to annoy my nearby neighbors with cooking odors. Although really the whole place smells like garlic thanks to Zozos anyway

Surfnh, the camera was usually a Canon G12, sometimes a Canon D10, and more rarely a Canon Rebel (some of the sunset photos only, I think. I always bring that camera with me but it usually ends up left in the safe since it can't go underwater) depending on the photo. I have photoshop for editing purposes, but I only know how to use the autocorrect functions. I really need to take a class one of these years...

jwwj, have a great trip!

I think we stayed in 4D on our last trip. Was it the upper on the left?

Wow! Your TR is so good! I thought we'd seen the manta because I wasn't exactly sure what they look like but nope we saw a really big eagle ray. That manta is too cool! Every time we visit we see something more and more interesting in the water but I swear, to keep up with you forum people we are gonna need to spot Loch Ness! ;)
Can't wait for next installment!

I too love your trip reports and photos. I feel that I actually know you and your hubby and would love to say hello if you're ever down in July. Thanks again for a great report.

So very hungry, thanks for the great photos!!!

We love Fatty Crab and hope it does well. Food that needs an explanation seems a hard sell in that location. We'll vote by visiting there every time. We had a bit of a spat there in November when my daughters did not want to share their food! So, I just bought an extra serving of the Malaysian Fried Rice and things were okay.

Thanks for the write up, I love your work.

Cheers, RickG

Hi MaryBeth, no 4D is the unit on the right, so you must have been in 4C. Same beautiful view though, right?

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I should have the next part up soon.

Sigh....the very reason why we didnt' visit this trip. The balance of our group likes more predictable stuff and it was hard enough to sell him on Sweet Plantains.

Always very much enjoy your trip reports. Did you end up renting wetsuits? I hope the manta rays will stick around. I was wondering the same thing as augie... if the species is migratory. I would like to meet them, too, if it's possible.

I guess why we've never been to Fatty Crab is there are two Fatty Crab restaurants in our town - although we've never eaten there either (hmm... well, it is a pretty big city - my excuse). A little curious if anyone has compared the restaurants here to the one on St. John - how different or similar.

Looking forward to the next installment!

Love your report as usual. Your pictures are tremendous! Love hearing about some of the restaurants we haven't been able to visit since we are often there in slow season. I am vowing to expand my taste buds a little on our next two trips!

Let's just say I have been fascinated with mantas longer than eagle rays so even to think I may have the opportunity to see one, we may be in the water a long long time!!!!

Looking forward to part two!!
