The porter is awesome but they seem to have changed the way it works. Last time the porter told us that we had to wait in the line to get to the gate agent and he would hold our bags. Once we got up there he put the tags on our bags and escorted us to customs as usual.

The biggest benefit came at the end when he met us after we cleared customs. We were then sent to the back security area where the crews clear TSA. There was nobody there waiting to go through security so it was a breeze. It still saves time but not as much time as when the porter would go up and get your luggage tags without your having to wait to get to the gate agent. We were in the first class line and it still took a good 20 minutes to get to the agent.

Good to know, so we now have to wait in the check-in line? We will likely sit use a porter but I like to know what to expect.

I am not surprised to hear there has been a change. Even for the islands, the porter system of jumping -the check-in line was pretty crazy.

We're down to 3 carry ons for the 4 of us anyways...No bag tag needed...But I'd still see Daphne(porter)
