How cool, Suzi! Thanks for sharing and Happy Birthday!

I always say I'm not really a jewelry girl but walking into a jewelry store sort of changes that for a minute! :)

Ya know... It's guys like him that give the rest of us a bad name!

Happy Birthday and congrats on the great present. Your husband sounds like a great guy.

I'm not gonna let Mrs. JT read this post. And tell Mr. Suzi that he's making the rest of us men look bad!
No, seriously, good for you. For my wife's last birthday I booked a spur of the moment trip to Coral Bay.

That is sweet! Again, if my husband did that I'd pass out!

Though I will give him props for our engagement. He (knowing me) wanted me to pick my own ring ... so after months of online research I found "the" one. I didn't want the traditional rock. My ring really is pretty simple, diamondy, but simple. Anyway, I found a local jeweler who had it. So I wanted to go right away, he delayed us for this reason or that (in the meantime going and buying the ring). We finally get there (because he needs my ring finger sized) and he's got this rouse going with the jeweler to tell me that the ring has been sold and the design discontinued.

Imagine me ... "I Told YOU we should have come sooner!" I was so bummed he promised to take me to the beach that weekend and that we could find another ring I liked even more. So we go to the beach that weekend and we walk the beach ending up on top of a life guard stand. And he starts talking about our relationship and how he wants to spend his life with me ... of course I am not realizing what's going on ... next thing I know he's on his knee & I am like awww how sweet, when he pulled out a little box I thought he felt so guilty about the ring he bought me some earrings as a peace offering. I open the box and there's my ring!!! I FREAK out and almost knock him off the life guard stand which is pretty high up! Poor guy...all that trouble and I still had no idea what he was doing. But if his goal was surprise, then he surely surprised me.

Our 8th anniversary is next month, so I guess its going pretty well so far :)
