We stayed at Acqua Blu last month. Dale, the owner, lives in a separate house below the villa with a separate driveway and steps up to the villa. We had several island wide power outages the first couple of days we were there and he was a great help because we needed to keep the wi-fi up and going for our son who used the office to edit some video projects for his clients. Dale would always phone before coming up to the villa. AB is a large property at the end of the road, and we felt very secure and relaxed there with Dale and his large dog, a Rhodesian ridgeback, nearby.

cjroyer wrote:Has anyone ever stayed at a villa where the villa owner was on site? I am doing a "girls only" trip next year and wondered if we would feel safer with the owner near by or would worry all the time about making too much noise and bother them. We girls can get rather giggly when the rum is flowing.

Anyone have any advise? I'd like to stay in Coral Bay this time and have a rather small budget of about $2,000 for the week.

Thanks for your help!!

If you are fortunate enough to be able to rent from Catherine Perry at House of Open Arms you will truly have a wonderful experience. She is there if you need her and invisible if you dont. she cooks a gourmet welcoming meal and leaves you coffee and granola. milk and juice.. wonderful place.. look on trip advisor for more info

I believe I have read that the owners of Orion's Hill villa live next door to it. And it is on a gated road so that may help you feel safer. Thinking of renting if Hubby and I go alone on our next trip.

C, check out the Bay House through www.vivacations.com stayed there this past April sounds like it would fit into what you are looking for. Owners are not on the premise however the location lends itself to alot of activities in the heart of Coral Bay.

Good luck with your planning

When we stayed at LaDolce Vita, we rented the efficiency. Fernando the owner was there some of the time but he has a boat on Coral Bay where he stays if someone is renting the main house. He was wonderful and gave us ideas of what not to miss. We felt very safe there. Fernando also charters his boat for day trips to BVI or where you want to go. And I must say that he has the BEST Italian accent! :D

I love the look of Adeste and have a good feeling about that villa. I especially like the owners on property, especially since they seem unobstrusive. I think it would give me peace of mind. Sorry it got booked before you could. We would definitely consider it, the off season prices look really reasonable..
