loved your summation- so many true statements about STJ and life in general! Now when we get teary eyed at home about something- we call them "car barge" moments so we know exactly wheat you mean!! Thanks for sharing your trip! :)

I cry when the ferry leaves too! I can't stop looking back at STJ when we leave. I thought I was the only one.

Last time I was there (my 1st visit), I think I was sad for at least a couple of months when I got back. There have only been 2 places I 've felt that way about - St. John and Hawaii (specifically Kauai)!

Loved your reports...and I had to smile. I always write my little message in the sand, too, and I always cry when that ferry pulls out and heads to St. Thomas. I never say "good bye", only "I'll see you again soon". Thanks for sharing.
