Here's another thing about packages: If the post office suspects your box contains liquids, aerosols, perishables, etc. they can just throw it away (they're probably looking for an excuse to anyway, lol). So if anything leaks, or smells, or sloshes...

I've had good luck. I mail my boxes directly to the property where we stay, because the owner gladly accepts them, and has them waiting for me.
My tip is not only just to use capital letters, but to go to USPS.com and use their online feature to pay and print for your label. Doing it online forces the address to be the USPS Standardized Format. In addition, it gives your label a barcode which allows you to track it, free of charge.

Hawaii, I totally agree about the lady at Indian Valley scuba. We were in there a few weeks ago to upgrade our snorkle gear. They do tend to cater to the scuba crowd but they have a nice selection of gear and you can't beat the personalized service. Have a great trip.

Mar- yes - super excited and not sure how I will be able to wait till July.
psufan - I liked that she did not push me into the expensive gear. She asked me if we would snorkel again and I told her we would love to but really not sure she then gave me a couple different options. We will be taking another trip back to get my son and husband their gear. Since, I have decided to not do carryon (I think) will probably purchase fins too. My son already has a pair so just 2 or 3 sets. Can't wait for July for our first trip.

have a super wonderful trip!!!It's crazy to me that there is so much discrepancy in shipping stuff and receiving stuff on the island! We have never had any trouble with our shipments, but i just can't fathom why there is so many different stories!! this shouldn't be so complicated!
