And we can't forget Bill and Hillary and their loving photo-op......dancing on the beach to no music. I'm gagging as I type.

Just a few more to add to the St. John Celebrity list:
Melanie Griffith before she became a celebrity worked at the Back Yard. Her father lived on St. John. Also Jane Pauly has lived in STJ.

Cameron Diaz!!
Last year we were walking from Mongoose Junction to Woody's and passed Cameron Diaz on the sidewalk in front of the Flower Shop. I recognized her right way but it took my brain a few seconds to put it all together. By the time the light blub went off, she was behind us. I said to my hubby - Holy S*** that was Cameron Diaz". His reply was "who is Cameron Diaz". I just said a star and left it at that. I figured there was no point ~ hehehe.

I saw a Biography on A&E on the Mamas and the Papas once and apparently Mama Cass lived on STT for awhile and they all camped/lived on STJ during a summer at one point.
HEre's an interesting web site that tells their history on STJ and STT, scroll to about half way down (takes some reading but interesting!)

My teenage daughter spotted Nick Lachey on Hawksnest Beach several years back, shortly before he married Jessica Simpson. My daughter spoke to him and he was extremely friendly---we were the only other people on the beach so I guess he wasn't worried about being mobbed with fans.

Waterguy.........I was told to stay clear of Lizzard's Landing while there with college girl. Probably good advice. I'd hate to end up in the STJ pokey.

Hard to explain that one to dad.

I will say this though, people are so low key there I think that everyone just likes to leave them alone and respect their privacy. Which I think is cool.
I have never and would never ask a "celebrity" for their autograph or photo -- and I've encountered many in my day.
I think my most recent one was a couple of years ago in First Class across from Joe Theisman. We ended up chatting as we waited for our respective spouses to use the restroom.
I guess I always feel sympathetic for these folks and don't want to intrude on their personal lives/time.
My only exception would be Pierce Brosnan. Damn he's a hottie and I would not just want an autograph....
I wasn't planning to stalk any of them.

Hey Rick - are you sure they seated him??
Morgans Mango is famous on STJ for saying "so what" to him
and turning him away (at least that is what I have been told over and over and over again)
It would be good to know

Davey Jones - walked right by my in front of the old store. I was an obsessed fan when I about seven, so I was pretty excited.
Kevin Bacon - He was in the old store with his kids wearing sunglasses and a gilligan hat. Didn't recognize him and was doing the "excuse me" dance" trying to get by (it was kind of crowded in the old store). Kristin (from the Banana Deck) worked for me at the time and was practically cross-eyed trying to telepathically communicate across the room to me that I should pay attention to him.
Keanu Reaves- He was just a guy with long hair and he looked kind of scruffy. There were these other big guys in the store with him at the same time, but on the other side, just kind of standing there watching him. It felt kind of wierd. He was standing in front of the grill rubs, so I asked "Do you like to barbeque?" He said "I have other people cook for me." In a pretty snooty way, I thought. I said "Good for you." and "Thank you" when they all left. I remember thinking, They were a fun bunch. Later that day, everyone was talking about Keanu Reaves and I said "Oh, I've heard of him, he was here?" And of course they said "HE WAS IN YOUR STORE!" Oh, that guy. I don't go out of my way to watch his movies. How was I supposed to know who he was, I didn't have Netflix then!
I saw Ted Turner walking down the street one day.
Forest Sawyer - at the Lime Inn when I worked there.
And I see the Bongo Bongo guys around occasionally.
