Several years ago, during one our trips, the island was buzzing that Brad Pitt and Angelina were at Caneel. He was shooting a film on Water Island. Never saw them, no one else reported seeing them, but everyone was talking about it!

That was true, they stayed at Cottage Seven. The movie Brad Pitt was filming was called "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." I did see that movie but didn't really recognize anything. There was a beautiful Caribbean sunset in one scene.

The scenes from the movie were filmed over on Water Island. After we saw the movie, my husband said "you made me sit through that just for some random beach scene?" Sadly, I couldn't recognize anything that looked VI-ish.

I think Melanie Griffith's family had a place at Denis Bay once upon a time. Don't know if it's still the case.

Come on now...you all know Oprah rented her place to the NYC Housewives a while back. Or was that Michael Jackson?

Mario Batali... on St John mid-February.

Gee... I haven't watched any of those Real Housewives shows since the New York City ladies left the Presidio!

I guess that most "famous" folks feel safe to wander the island freely now with no fear of being caught by at least one clever photographer.
