Robin,
We will be at South Shore Villa in November. I think it's fairly new.

We usually get to St John at least once a year, most years we go twice. We are now planning our fall trip.
This year we will be traveling with two other couples, and both of the women are a little, well,"high maintenance" I would call it. One requires a king bed and a bathroom with a bathtub. This couple does not require A/C. The second couple requires A/C and a king bed but no tub. All we require is that we get to St John in a villa with an "in your face" blue water view, without looking down on a lot of other villas or having neighbors. We really prefer the north shore view, but there doesnt seem to be anything up there that meets our needs. Much to my chagrin, Cinnamon Bay Estate does not have A/C and Mermaid Falls only has one king.
Villa Rendevous, Villa Sibella, Eden's Whim, Oceana and Sol Inspiration all meet our needs.
Sol Inspiration is available for our exact dates. We are very close to booking it, but we are a little flexible if anyone can suggest something else.We just saw the photos of the inside of the villa and I guess because of the lighting in the photos, it does not inspire us. More outside photos should be available within the next week.
At first, we were really sold on Villa Sibella, but then I had concern about the lower bedrooms as the villa seems to be set into the hillside and, in addition, the bedrooms are below the pool deck. That doesnt leave too much room for the light to enter. Then we were told by Caribbean Villas that they were only renting Sibella 6 months out, as the villa was for sale. Of course, now that we are nearing the time that we could actually place a deposit for November, they have raised the off season rates by $1000 per week, plus, of course, the "5% for nothing" that they charge.
My favorite is and was always Villa Rendevous. Great views, great pool, meets everyone's needs and very convenient but it is an older villa. Has onyone ever stayed there?
Would love to have your opinions on any of these villas.

had my eye on ambiance for quite a while, has those high western views bride and i must have. stayed at treasure ridge and temptess on upper rockridge rd and ambiance would appear to be on left just before allesandra. can anyone confirm exact location.
on roof tops and warts: i'm prone to staire at a wart on a face(very uncouth) but during all our stays on gifft hill and upper rockbridge i don't recall ever noticing a roof top. they are so in the distance from villas we've occupied and there's soo much natural beauty i can't take my eye's off, i just don't see the warts. give me a stj panorama and my rose colored glasses will filter out the warts.

Papabou - here's a shot from Ambiance. It is high up on Rockridge. Not sure if its next to the villa you mentioned though.

I have always stayed on the Cruz Bay side, primarily to be closer to more restaurants, but Forts Cove is beautiful enough that it may cause me to switch over to Coral Bay:

flip-f,
thanks for confirming location butttt, all the pictures must stop! bride's made it clear no stj till fall. unfortunately i checked my stj repellant level after looking at all the great pictures on several recent threads including ron_l's and i'm almost 2 quarts low. i must either add some that can be done only on stj or go into immediate withdrawal from stj boards until we can get a stj support group started here in covington.
