I hear you! I'm still trying to figure out what food to take without taking a coller. We are not going straight there so.....frozen meat will probably not last over 24 hours...

We always take a cooler of meats and stay a Friday night on St Thomas. The meats are still frozen when we get to the villa on Saturday. Just make sure they're plenty frozen before you pack the cooler and you should be fine. Especially if you arrive on St John the day you leave home.

Jim - looks like we're gonna just miss you again! We arrive May 11th.

Bring a long sleeve lightweight sweater and jeans/pants as nights are chilly for most cold for locals :)

It must be you. We're not planning on an early May trip. We are looking at late June through 7/4.

Sorry - that was for you Mahojim! I think you've been on the rock every trip we've made and we've yet to run into you. I think I just missed you at St John Spice last time. Maybe this year will be the lucky one!

Bring your liver. You will need to process the alcohol.

Food to take without a cooler

I always take a can of tuna (I'm picky about the brand), equal packets in a zip lock bag, a bag of coffee. I don't eat cereal, but I do know it's very expensive on island. Whenever I travel I also take bars (like cliff bars or zone bars) in case I'm stuck on the plane without food-then I also have something for a snack.

Thanks for all your hints and ideas. I can't believe it's only 3 days away!!! I'm planning on taking cheese, granola bars and whatever else I can find. We are spending Wed. night in Fort Lauderdale so i'm worried that meats might not make it. Now if someone would kindly take care of all these little problems that keep coming up! Thanks!
