Camera. My husband jokes that if I forgot my camera, I may as well just go back home. I can't live without it.

Oh, and a geeky answer: sharpening stone for the villa knives.
Maybe some Astro Glide?

Waterguy and Rick..........you guys crack me up!!! How do I get my workaholic husband to be more like you? (Why do you think I take all these girl trips??)
The plastic champ. flute is the best, Mary Beth.
I can't think of anything exotic or clever, I just take a tan and as little else as possible.

See what a wonderful thing the imagination can be? I am sure that the rope will come in handy....he used it one time to help pull me up the side of a cliff hiking in North Carolina one year! It is something he usually has with him.

Mary Beth - you crack me up about seeing yourself.
Cat - which hike was that? I don't know about it - sounds almost as bad as the bike trip in Colorado.
wontongirl - I am NOWHERE near as bad as you...thank God!!! I hope things have gotten better for you.
I have to say that one time the plane dropped, and I went to grab the arm rest and the guy next to me pulled his arm away quick thinking I was gonna grab him. I laugh every time I think of the look on his face.
Last time on the way home from STJ, I was actually so relaxed that I didn't take anything - not sure I am ready to try that again though.

Gotta have the mask and snorkel. Everything else can be a buy or work around.

Nothintolose, it was one of the trips with the family to North Carolina cuz Michelle had to be pulled up too! We were again laughing so hard we couldn't clilmb up the embankment!
I think I need to stop doing that kind of thing with her. It seems she is bad luck for me in active situations.
It was Lynn with me skiing where I screamed down the slope though so it could be just me!

my family. never forget our first trip. my 5-year old daughter asking "dad, can i have my snorkel?", because she always wanted to get back in the water. my 8-year old son's look of wonder and delight upon his first sighting of underwater beauty at hawksnest, and the accordant sounds of sheer joy that trumpetted through his snorkel tube announcing his happiness there. and mrs. dave, as astounded as me at the fun and adventure around almost every curve in the road, comfy on the beach, comfy in the water, and happy to be there. 4 years later, it's still the same for us. so it's my family.....and lest i forget, chaco sandals, good-luck visor, and home-made chocolate-chip oatmeal cookies with just a hint of cinnamon.

snorkel gear, a camera, and a blank notebook to use as our trip journal, which I turn into our endless trip reports when I get back!
