I had a friend from Australia named Petra - it now reminds me of the Petroglyphs - maybe we can have a forum baby naming contest :)

Thanks so much for the warm wishes everyone!

This is definitely going to be a different kind of trip for us.

And Pia-- I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed for June 18th. Mr. Gromit's cousin, Nick has a birthday that same day as well, so it seems that a lot of folks are rooting for that date.

I'm just glad I don't have to be 8 or 9 months pregnant in the middle of August in DC. Talk about dodging a bullet!

Oh and as Flip Flop likes to tell everyone, she now has a designated driver for the next 6 months!

Cheers everyone and thanks for the warm fuzzies!

Congratulations! We had our first about a year ago and I am amazed at how life has changed - but in a good way. And you don't even care about all the stuff you used to think was so important. Really.

I think it's funny how "they" measure fetus size in terms of fruit. I went from an apple seed to a blueberry to a melon to a watermelon. Then he came out. Thank god, 'cause I was huge.

If it's any consolation, I went to Italy while pregnant and managed to have a wonderful time - sans wine (well, except for a small glass on two occasions). I was almost to my third trimester by then. After nine months of abstaining, I almost never drink now!

Best wishes to you. This is an exciting time!

Congratulations Gromit! What wonderful news! I went to Paris when I was seven months pregnant. The best thing is that you won't miss the alcohol, you will be feeling like you are going to burst! I remember being served such delicious food (cheese tray, yum,) and unable to eat it.

Life will change dramatically, but once the baby is there you won't even be able to imagine life without him/her. You have been blessed!

Congrats to both of you! Like someone said previously, you don't know what it is to love someone until you have a baby. It's hard to believe that you could love something so much the minute you see him/her.

You must have been about a month along when I met you at Mad Fox in October.

Hold on to your hat it's going to be a wild ride to raise that baby to an adult!

Really happy for both of you!
