Who voted no?

You absolutely should go. Live every minute...what could you possibly regret...

Can't wait to hear your trip report!

I confess, I voted no. For me, two travel days is not worth a trip of that length. Obviously, I am in the minority.

Pete, our travel day entails only a four hour flight, totally bearable and no big deal.

Totally different coming from Wisconsin!

Long travel days are never fun. I did a week long trip to Germany a few years ago and those flights + layovers were awful.

Flying from BWI to STT usually has me leaving around 7 or 8am and I get there by 3pm. So it's not toooooooo bad. Once I'm through security, the flying is part of the trip for me (on the way there at least. coming home always sucks).

The more I think about it, the more I should just do it. I was originally planning to do a long hike in mid-October, but work is getting in the way of that. Someone planned a big project where the bulk of the work takes place in October/November. Once Thanksgiving hits things get quiet because people are scrambling to take the vacation they didn't take earlier in the year.

I'll do some more flight research this week.

Matt I agree- the flight is part of the trip (on the outbound)- consider yourself on vacation as soon as you get through security!

Our travel there from Dallas is about the same and we don't mind it- just wish there was a non-stop

Make your plans and have a great time- send us pictures!

Go for it. Any time I can get a trip to the island, I'm gone
