Thanks for the compliments & Ken your photos are gorgeous! I am not a photographer and don't even play one on TV :)

And Jerseyboy is absolutely right. The day of our photo I think we left around 10 and were still one of only maybe 5-6 people on the beach!

thanks for the photos! I can't wait to see it in person for the first time. I think we'll have no problem getting the 8:00 ferry. My hubby and I are fairly early risers, but the other couple we're traveling with are NOT! But, I'll just say, hey the bus leaves at 7:30 - be on it on get left behind.

Where are you staying in STT? If you're near the east end (Red Hook), you won't hit traffic. If you're not, just hope you don't get stuck driving behind a truck. Also, parking at Red Hook is bad but you may get lucky being that early. Otherwise you have to park further down the street and/or take a shuttle to Red Hook. Just adds more time and aggrevation. Then you have to buy a ferry ticket at the booth.

Jerseyboy - we are on the east end, at Secret Harbour. It should only take like 5 minutes(?) to get there.

We haven't decided completely whether to ferry over and take a taxi, or to take the car barge. opinions?

Yes, it should take about 5 minutes to get to Red Hook from Secret Harbor. I think if you're just going to STJ just for the day, the passenger ferry would be best. When you get to Cruz Bay, STJ, just be patient with the taxis. Sometimes they wait for their taxi to fill up before they leave, so you may be sitting in one for a few minutes.

This was Trunk Bay about 8 am. We pretty much had it to ourselves.
