Amazing pictures as usual. And what a view you had from the villa. So beautiful.
Looking forward to read more.

sea-nile, we only saw two sunsets--the tail end one that we saw right when we got to the house, and then that last sunset I posted a picture of. And that last one was kind of hazy.
Vicki, that is a raspberry granita. Basically a bag of raspberries blended up with lots of ice and some tequila and then refrozen and scraped into the glass. It's half a dessert, half a drink.
Underwater photos were taken either with the Canon D10 or the Canon sd800 with housing (they don't make this camera anymore). I was very happy with the picture quality from the D10, and I especially liked that you could see the viewfinder underwater. John and I both had a D10 and his flooded on day five of our trip, which was a bummer, but I am hoping Canon will replace or repair it. Mine stayed watertight for the entire trip.

Thanks for the camera info. Knew it HAD to be a Canon! My Canon PowerShot G3 from 2003 got full of island sand, and Saharaha dust from the tradewinds in STX.
Again great photography!!!

Awesome report as always! Love the sunset shots... made me realize that I kind of miss a villa with sunset views. We haven't stayed at any of those for a while now. Can't believe the sunset on day 4 was the last sunset for you there.
Glad to know that at least your D10 didn't leak. Hope Canon will replace John's. Oh, I have a question - when his D10 flooded, did the memory card survive?
Great underwater shots - again, as always!

Pickle, no we lost the memory card too. The camera completely flooded, and I mean completely. There was water almost all the way up to the top of the viewfinder. But it happened almost right away and the card was empty before the snorkel when it happened so he only lost a couple of pictures. I was so happy that I had been downloading all of our photos to my laptop every night. If I had lost five days of John's pictures I would have been VERY upset. WAY more upset than losing the actual camera.
