I'm so sad that John is no longer with us in person, but am comforted in knowing that he's no longer in pain.

I count myself as blessed to have been the recipient not only of that rapier-like wit, but of the infectious grin that always followed.

RIP brother.

I can't help but picture his mock shocked face and a "Shut the F*ck up!" comment when he heard the news, with his laptop, iphone, digital camera and camcorder spread out before him as he sits at the patio table at Alessandra, overlooking Great Cruz Bay. And a "Good Morning Sunshine!" to the hungover late risers.

Mutumbo has left the building.

Cheers, RickG

So, so sorry to hear this news today. Rest in Peace - even though we never met in person, you made a difference in this place.

My thoughts and sympathies to Amy and the rest of Mr. B's family and friends.

I haven't been on here much lately but I have been keeping up with folks on FB, and when I heard this I had to come catch up with everyone. We have lost a great member of this forum.

My heart is just broken about this, but I know he's not in pain anymore. And I'm sure when we all get to the great beyond, he will meet us with ice cold drinks and that wit we all love.

Prayers for Amy and their family. I am so sorry.

Rest in peace John. I'm sitting here at my desk crying for you and Amy and I didn't ever meet you in person that is how much you have touched my life.

Damn it, the name in the sand made me lose it. How beautiful was that?
I am so very sorry for the loss of a great forumite!

The VIOL flag is flying at half mast today in memory of one of our crew who can no longer join us on the beach. But know that it is still flying.

I know that John and Amy had at least one more symbolic trip to the beach together before the end. They felt the sand and enjoyed the water together.

The two sides of this story are that we are sad that we will not see John's smile or hear his quick wit again. We are also happy that he is no longer suffering, and he has fulfilled the promise. He is enjoying his own beach with his favorite drink.

We will grieve in our own ways in our own time and then move on. We will not forget those who have gone ahead of us; and, we will look forward to meeting new people who will come our way. We will tell the old stories and smile. We will experience new things together and smile again. It may not feel that way this morning, but we will smile again.

Much love to you MrB. There was never and will never be another like you. May no dbs get in your way on your way to that sunny, beautiful resting place we all know you are headed for.

Some day we will meet again.

Amy, know that we are all sending our love and strength to you. You are much loved too!

I feel the same way as Tom. I'm so sorry Amy and all of you who became friends through this forum. Thinking of you all and hoping that this crazy, weird, wonderful bond that this forum has created acts as a balm to your broken hearts.
