Gee....I have a confession to make....I wrote my last post after we were doing saturday evening rum shots with extra old mt. gay....looks like I can't handle my rum, because my post was a little rude. Sorry 'bout that! Glad to see you got the cars, you won't regret it.....

Surfnh - no worries, no harm, no foul. If I weren't the original poster, I too might have wondered what the discussion is all about because the answer is obvious. I know this. And I know my own family. So that part is simple.

My "problem" is one of approach. I love learning about where I will be going ahead of time. I am fortunate to have time to do this. Books are a start, especially the 2 most recommended for St. John. But once I found the forum(s), that is where I have really learned the most "real time" scoop.

and then ...
it becomes almost an obsession and I end up knowing more than probably is necessary.

Not everyone does this. That's fine. Part of me envies this approach since they have the knack to just show up and roll from there. Doesn't mean they won't totally dive whole-heartedly into the trip, that is just who they are or where they are in life. Work, young kids, etc etc. Or, in the case of my dad, he is an active 84 but doesn't have easy access to a computer.

I get too much info, others have some and some have none. It all works in the end though, cause we will be in St John!!! :D

It's tough bringing a group, I think I mentioned in an older post that someone has to be the drill sergeant, or else no one will move out.

It was kind of funny last month....we always bring my oldest son's old college roomate, and he comes with a girlfriend every year. So, after a few days of yelling at everyone to get out of bed and moving, playing my loud classic rock to drive them nuts, I stooped low and apologized to them about pushing them so much. The roomate told me don't stop, because if no one kicked their butts out of bed they'd miss half the fun. Go figure...so I kept pushing and we had a great time.

I'm sure it will work in the end, but planning can be tough.
