She was very much like the one you describe, separate checks, opinionated about activities, in bed by 9, the breaking point was when she tried to take leftovers into a resturant to eat and just ordered a cup of tea! I kid you not. We still travel together once a year but now without her.

Hahahahaha Sailorgirl!! I think she left your group and joined mine! That's her to a "T"....absolutely MUST eat dinner before 7 PM, in bed by 9, will occassionally come with us to a restaurant but will only order a glass of water, makes comments on how much others eat or drink....and when we cook at the villa she's HORRIFIED at how much food we prepare because she's afraid some of it will be thrown out. (We've never wasted any yet.)She's the type that can open a bag of chips or cookies and ration them to last a predetermined amount of time...the rest of us have a few drinks and eat the whole damn bag! And believe me, our time on St John is when she is actually the MOST relaxed! We knew about some of this before she joined our travel group but didn't get the full extent until we saw it firsthand. We should have known better when she told us how she would be going to bed just as her travel partners in Europe were heading out for dinner!!
We all had a good laugh last year when she kvetched that some other "rude tourist" got between her and a turtle that she was watching in the water. Yet she's the first one to swim like an olympian to the spot where a turtle is spotted. We ignore this behavior for the most part because she was raised this way and isn't intentionally trying to be malicious. And the rest of us DO tease her about being rigid and having a big stick stuck up her nether-regions.
I think we may have the villa problem solved....we offered her a lower share of the expenses in exchange for sharing a bathroom. It worked!! (Knew it would
