what confused me was when I originally booked the fare and got SUCH a great deal the date was tues nov 17.
So them changing it to Nov 18 just scares me. I do not want them to cancel the new flight on Nov 18 and bring back Nov 17 after I got a place to stay and also changed my work schedule and my friend booked their flight for nov 18..

I dont think that will happen... I really think you will be fine. More than likely what has happened was they've combined 2 days flights into 1. Probably not enough seats sold for one of those dates. But if it would make you feel better I would call and see what the deal was with it...
