There is one more alternative that may not be right for everybody. Laser Eye Surgery. Becky and me had it done several years ago with no regrets. All depends on the shape of your eye ball and the thickness of the cornea if they can do it.

DH ordered prescription mask at Snorkelmart.com....a good resource for snorkel stuff if for those that don't live near a dive shop or the like.

Folks, you don't need $200 masks, and you SURE don't need laser surgery! Divers Direct catalog has $30 masks with lens for $30 each (total $90 or so.) I've used them, mustasche and all, for five years. No leaks, no problems with my camera, great vision, even though in real life I use trifocals! Don't obsess about perfect vision, and understand that the prescription is essentially just your ballpark, but you're not conducting brain surgery down there, and the improvement will be dramatic. When I climb out of the water I sometimes just use the mask to stroll along Oppenheimer after I've swum from Hawksnest. I wouldn't go anywhere without my personal mask. (BTW: carry a tiny bottle of dishwashing soap to smear on the inside of the mask, and you'll be fog-free all day.) Rick&Leah
