If the models are correct, and they surprisingly often have been, Bill will pass north of us as a category 2 on Thursday, so it should be soon obvious what's happening with the Friday ferries... if the airport is open afterwards, the boats should be running.

For what it's worth, Storm Carib predicts Ana to pass 116 miles south of STJ and Bill to pass 350 miles north of STJ. It's still just a prediction. But earlier today it was showing Bill as near as 151 miles.

I had heard both Ana and Bill were passing but will they affect the BVI's?

If you are in the islands or going... the link from bayer40601 - http://stormcarib.com - is very informative and has great tools for tracking these storms and getting forecasts.
Anthony's link on this site is great too - http://www.caribbean-on-line.com/hurricanes/.

May all stay safe and the storms stay far away at sea.

Using the stormCARIB website and those tools...

I just discovered that Tropical Storm Claudette is at 0 hour and 199.1 miles away from my front door...

and, yes, it is raining here!

Iprof, yuck! I was in Orlando last August for Tropical Storm Fay. It was interesting for me because I've never been thru a TS before. I was glued to the local weather on TV! Not scared, but fascinated! :)

These posts take me back to our trip last October and the days leading up to Omar. It definitely wasn't a "normal" StJ trip, but my memories of that trip will last forever and it was an amazingly electric time to be on island. Pia, I remember you being gone then!

I hope everyone stays safe!

I agree, Nic, it is an "electric" time, pre storm. It's all the anticipation in the air, the majesty of the raging sea, the surreal skyscape.

Which leads me to ask: How is it there today?

Hope all the real heaviness passes by far from the islands.
