Gosh, I got this from 6 different people today. So I researched jmq's post and found it to be perfectly accurate. Enough with the fear-smear crap from both sides already!

Ok, so I got suckered in. Sorry everyone. I don't even like Glenn Beck, but he sounded very convincing!

Even I who watch Fox on a regular basis, think Glenn Beck is an idiot.

Sorry, gonna disagree.
He's an asshole
I'd like to ask everyone to unplug cable & watch PBS.
If this NEOCON can handle it, I suspect you can too.

I couldn't disagree with Wakey and Promo more about Beck...Ahole is pretty strong.
As for PBS...Isn't that the channel that has the Charlie Rose Show? You know, the one where three days prior to the election, Charlie and Tom Brokaw basically laughed about how they "knew nothing about Obama's beliefs, nor how he would actually govern if he were elected"?
This was of course, a few weeks after Brokaw hosted a national debate. Way to serve the people well, Tom.
But yeah, we should all watch PBS.

Well there you go. Just like opinions, right? It's okay to watch PBS just don't donate.

Everyone in the media has their own bias, it's why we should develop our own internal BS detector. (I read the NYT

)
I like PBS because it's in depth without all the yelling and 6th grade theatrics that is so common on cable news.

Yeah, CG, it's ALL your fault.
Actually, I'm impressed that we've all shown so much restraint, with all the crap in D.C. that's going on. I know it's hard for some of us to keep quiet. I'm taking a vow of silence..........from now on.

No worries. Maybe your bull*hit detector was malfunctioning that day!
Although they can be quite persuasive on the surface and play to your fears really well, in other ways it’s actually easier to detect BS with the ranters and Henny Penny acts.

If you are concerned about your 1st amendment rights to free speech and freedom of expression...You should be concerned about this.
flag@whitehouse.gov
This is a call to arms for Obama's informants to report back to them with any "misinformation" about healthcare that is going around the public square.
Specifically, here's what they're asking for:
"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface
via chain emails or
through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to
flag@whitehouse.gov."
Is this even legal? If someone were to pass on an email forward, it is likely to have upwards of 100 email addresses/names on it, which will then be in the hands of the government. This is really getting out of control! Where are the people who were sreaming about the Patriot Act?

From redstate.com:
According to 5 U.S.C. § 552a, United States agencies, including the Executive Office of the President shall, “maintain no record describing how any individual exercises rights guaranteed by the First Amendment unless expressly authorized by statute or by the individual about whom the record is maintained or unless pertinent to and within the scope of an authorized law enforcement activity.”
The White House may take the position that certain of its offices aren’t subject to the Privacy Act (that is a longstanding Office of Legal Counsel position, see here). There is a clear cut court decision one way or the other. Nonetheless, most Presidents instruct their staffs to comply. This will be a the first significant time the White House has ignored the Privacy Act and may open President Obama up to litigation.
This is another example of the Obama administration ignoring long time precedent when it is no longer convenient for them. And ignoring this precedent lets them collect data on and potential harass individual American citizens.
The
flag@whitehouse.gov email address is not subject to Freedom of Information Act requests. Some enterprising legislator should introduce legislation to make it subject to the FOIA.
