Sounds like we'll need more than our two boats to make this "floatilla" happen. Anyone else got a boat they can bring? Ruth? Bandit?

Hello everyone, I usually on't post much but i have read a lot of your travel reports. My wife and I live in Manitowoc, WI and we will be visiting ST Johns for the 3rd time this August. Dates July 31 - Aug 9. St John is very special to us as we were married at Big Maho bay beach. We are the ultimate travelers as we stay at the Maho Camps. Maybe some day we will meet some of you down there.

Can we maybe rent a third boat?
I am leaving for the day. Maybe I'll check in later tonight. Don't decide on a date without me.

We are a couple of hours from Madison in central Wisconsin. All we can offer is a canoe, but we'd love to meet all you posters. We leave for STJ on Feb. 9 and hope to return with plenty of fresh stories to tell. We have flexible schedules in the summer. Keep us posted!

We're from Illinois, spent MLK weekend at the Dells w/the kids and grandkids at the Wilderness. TOTALLY not my cup of tea, but of course the kiddos loved it. I cannot get this group to travel to STJ, I know they would love it as much as we do.
We have a ski boat that could hold 7 or 8; never taken it north, we usually go to the Ozarks or Kentucky Lake, but I guess we could try. Hubby has been fishing on Lake Michigan out of Kenosha, I don't think anything that big around Madison, right?
BTW, what was with the Illinois remark?

There are three lakes in the Madison area that are interconnected. Ranging from largest to smallest they are: Mendota, Monona and Waubesa. We like Waubesa best because it is more serene and rural. After that, Monona gets our vote because it has great views of the Madison skyline. The only downside to Monona is that there are no bars on that lake...there are on the other two.
But, heck, I really don't care where we go.

I am going to start a new post about how to get this date narrowed down. Then we can decide on a place and the other details. Illinios people are fine with me. I grew up in Central Illinios until I was 25. I love being a cheesehead though!

I think I started the Illinois thing with my tongue-in-cheek comment about a FIP showing up. All in good fun!
BTW, if you don't know what an FIP is, then you haven't talked to anyone who lives in southern Wisconsin, NW Indiana or SE Michigan. We (stereotypically) have a bad rep...

We are major cheeseheads......so glad to hear that Favre is coming back! We'll be in Manitowoc early June for a High School graduation. Even more interesting, Bliter, we will be on St. John during your trip (July 27-August 4). Wish we could join the Wisconsin party!!!!

Waiting to see what dates are chosen. I'm a native cheesehead and S is from (gasp) Kansas. We are located about 120 miles north of Green Bay and would probably bring the RV down. Only boats we could contribute are 2 kayaks.
